The star of Extra sits with Catalina for an exclusive look at his busy life behind the scenes. PLUS: Catalina celebrity contributor, Sonia Manzano, tells readers how to keep the "Wise Latina" movement alive, and much more
NEW YORK, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- In the current issue of Catalina, the star of the entertainment show Extra, and author of the new children's book Mud Tacos, Mario Lopez opens up about life on the small screen and off.
Mario Lopez becomes the second man to grace the cover of Catalina magazine, the national lifestyle publication "for the mind, body, and soul of today's Latina." (The first Catalina male cover model was Desperate Housewives' star Ricardo Antonio Chavira, in 2005.)
In his exclusive cover interview, Mario talks about how hosting Extra has changed his life: "I do get recognized a lot when I'm out in public," he tells Catalina, "but that's cool. I like it. It's like I have a lot of friends, but I've never been confused for another celebrity, which is good. I like people, in general, and I like hosting Extra so it comes across, hopefully. It's like I'm inviting million of people into my living room every night and they're inviting me into theirs."
He also shares the inspiration behind his new children's book, Mud Tacos, co-written with his sister Marissa Wong. Plus, peak into Mario Lopez's home with pages full of gorgeous photos taken by celebrity photographer John Russo.
