BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Garcia Research is pleased to announce that we've surpassed 10,000 Hispanic online panel members last week, and the numbers are rapidly growing.

Launched in September of 2009, Cada Cabeza(TM) is the first Spanish dominant Hispanic online panel created by a research group that truly understands the cultural nuances of the Spanish dominant Hispanic population.

Cada Cabeza(TM) was born out of our own need to fulfill Spanish dominant Hispanic quotas online. After identifying that the rest of the research community was in need of the same demographic, Garcia Research sought to fulfill this need through the creation of Cada Cabeza(TM). The Cada Cabeza(TM) panel now provides high quality Spanish dominant Hispanic online sample that was at one point non-existent. Nobody else in the industry has as many un-acculturated Hispanics in their online databases as Garcia Research.

Our proprietary phone-to-online recruitment method powered by the new fully-hosted, Software-as-a-Service telephony solution that combines CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) with predictive dialing, has aided us in becoming the largest Hispanic online panel. The facts speak for themselves; Cada Cabeza(TM) has over 10,000 members.

Epic Recording brings together latin artists under a common cause

The select group of artists includes Super Stars Luis Fonsi, Gloria Estefan, Placido Domingo, Enrique Iglesias, David Bisbal, Wisin & Yandel, Arthur Hanlon and many more They will lend their voices to record the theme for "Unete Con La Gota de la Vida, Benefiting City of Hope"

LOS ANGELES, Nov. /PRNewswire/ -- United under a same mission, music super stars, Placido Domingo, Gloria Estefan, David Bisbal, Luis Fonsi, Arthur Hanlon, Wisin & Yandel and Enrique Iglesias amongst other Latin music stars, will become ambassadors of hope through this historic initiative; "Unete Con La Gota de la Vida, Benefiting City of Hope."

"The 'Unete Con La Gota de la Vida, Benefiting City of Hope' campaign was conceived to create awareness within the Latin community about the importance of bone marrow donation, and thus encourage the community to register with the National Bone Marrow Registry which City of Hope currently promotes.

For the first time, a group of A-list Hispanic musical artists have joined the cause in an effort to launch an unprecedented campaign where they will record an epic song: 'La Gota de la Vida,'" said Salvador Trevino, co-founder of the campaign to benefit City of Hope and Executive Producer of the project.

"We'd like to thank these talented artists for their time, energy and commitment to the recording of 'La Gota de la Vida'," said Scott Loyola, Associate Vice President of Development for City of Hope, top center in the investigation and treatment of cancer in the United States and beneficiary of the project. "Through the support from the artists, recording labels and sponsoring companies, we can help ensure wider outreach to the Latino community and encourage more to join the 'National Bone Marrow Donor Registry' while raising funds for advanced research and treatment at City of Hope."

The large number of singers that are part of the group at this time will converge in Las Vegas this up-coming week of November 3-6 during the Latin Grammy 2009 celebration. Additional recordings will happen in Los Angeles and Miami to record the musical theme written exclusively for City of Hope by pianist and composer Arthur Hanlon.

"The campaign 'Unete Con La Gota de la Vida, Benefiting City of Hope' has touched my heart like no other project throughout my career. The campaign's image, a hand holding a drop of life-inspired the music and lyrics of the song. I feel honored to be part of such a noble cause," shared Hanlon.

The first epic recording session, where dozens of artists will unite to deliver their voices for this unprecedented cause, will take place in Las Vegas between November 3rd and 6th. Additional recording sessions will happen in Miami and Los Angeles. Besides the artists confirmed already, the list includes Aleks Syntek, Noel Schrajis, German Montero, Shaila Durcal, and Marcos Witt among others.

During the same dates, the filming of the video clip will take place, led by talented director Simon Brand and produced by Mauricio Osorio from Aluna Films. The video will boost the circulation of the message, which, along with the song, will be spread to the world.

Luis Medina is the Executive Producer of the "Unete Con La Gota de la Vida, Benefiting City of Hope" project. Medina is the President of UNO Productions, and two decades ago made history with a similar gathering of artists for a hymn written for UNICEF, known as "Cantare Cantaras."

The list of over 50 luminaries in Latin music included Julio Iglesias, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Vicente Fernandez, Miami Sound Machine and Placido Domingo.

Luis Medina affirms: "I'm positive this epic recording will touch the world much the same way as 'We are the World' and 'Cantare Cantaras' did in their time, two projects which remain in people's hearts forever."

Universal Music Group is the music label that will promote and distribute the song. All earnings generated from its sale will be donated to "Unete Con La Gota de la Vida, Benefiting City of Hope." The song and video will have a special premiere in Los Angeles on February 11th, 2010.

Today, history is about to be written through the historic collaboration of a countless number of Hispanic artists uniting for the first time for this noble cause.

Obama and the White House in Spanish

ATLANTA, Nov. /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- The conviction that a life with so many blessings must be lived to serve one's neighbor is expressed in a sentence that can be read as part of President Barack Obama's biography on an official Government homepage, the White House website, which recently began to offer information in Spanish. Currently there are only four biographies on the site and a brief text that says: "Welcome to the new page in Spanish at WhiteHouse.gov"

Hugo Hernandez, founder of El Club de Comerciantes, says about this, "To include information in Spanish on the White House web page is a friendly gesture that President Obama's staff has made toward Latinos, and I think that many of us Latinos still haven't found a way to communicate with officials of the United States government."

For this reason, El Club de Comerciantes recently published on its portal the most up-to-date list of government offices that offer information in Spanish.

This list is available on its website at: http://www.elclubdecomerciantes.org

Be an entrepreneur in Spanish. Latino Entrepreneurs in the United States create 35 thousand new businesses each month, and the 2.2 million Latino businessmen in the United States generate nearly US$388.7 billion in profits, according to a new report prepared by the company HispanTelligence.

Nevertheless, a recent study presented by the Small Business Administration (S.B.A.) shows that the average educational level of immigrant business owners is at the high school level, and for this reason, El Club de Comerciantes has begun to offer on its website a large selection of educational videos covering a range of subjects from Steps for Starting a Business, Business Administration, and Computing, to Technology, Electronic Commerce and Learning Basic and Intermediate English.

This information is available free of charge to everyone. One can also find information at the Portal of El Club de Comerciantes on manufacturers selling wholesale products from Mexico and South America.

As business consultant Max Arrechea comments, "This website is the Google for small businesses; you can find all sorts of practical information to provide fuel for those who want to prevail, as well as excellent wholesale suppliers." Leonardo Lavin, who designed the company Gusthech, had this to share about his experience: "At the El Club de Comerciantes portal you can find anything wholesale, from seeds to technology. Our company manufactures bottling machines, and we use this site not only to sell bottlers, but also to upgrade our own training."

Hugo Hernandez, one of the creators of the El Club de Comerciantes portal, notes: "We're interested in helping Latino businessmen to get a solid grounding in the rules of the game when it comes to running a business in the United State; however, we also believe it's essential to help businessmen so they can buy Mexican and South American wholesale products directly from the manufacturer and the farmer in the U.S. and Latin America.

To access the site all you have to do is register free of charge on its website: http://www.elclubdecomerciantes.org

The portal of El Club de Comerciantes is basically an educational project that has been created with the support of many volunteers and friends who have collaborated in the generous undertaking of offering quality training to entrepreneurs who do not have the resources to invest in their own education.

The first single from Noel Schajris’s new solo album makes its much-anticipated debut

July 22, 2009, Los Angeles, CA- “No Veo La Hora” is the debut single from the album “Uno No Es Uno” (Sony), which marks the beginning of a new and important phase in Noel Schajris’s (SACM/SESAC Latina) career as a solo artist after Sin Bandera. The song is currently playing on radio stations throughout Latin America.

“I have a lot of faith in it. I put it on my You Tube channel (www.youtube.com/noelschajris), where I also feature the video I did with John Legend. The initial comments are wonderful. It’s a romantic song about waiting to fulfill the dream of living out your love. I wrote it with Gian Marco,” states the artist.

He adds that the video for the song was filmed in Los Angeles under the direction of Carlos Lopez, “a 21 year-old director who works with a creative team where no one is over the age of 25; it’s a young group that demonstrates passion and professionalism. It was a unique experience, a new and wonderful one for me.”

The single “No Veo La Hora” will make its debut in the United States during the first part of August. The full-length album “Uno No Es Uno,” which will be released in Latin America on August 25th, will be made available in the United States and Puerto Rico a month later.

The album contains 11 songs and 1 bonus track, the theme song to the film “Regresa,” a romantic comedy starring Mexican actor Jaime Camil.

The co-producers of the album are Sebastian Krys and Walter Afanasieff. Among the composers with whom Noel wrote the new repertoire is Claudia Brant, a SESAC Latina affiliate, who participates as co-writer on 8 tracks.

For that reason, Noel states that his new album could just as easily be called “The Songs of Claudia and Noel.” He also points out that all the collaborations on this project were “marvelous,” and that the three artists with whom he duets – Luis Fonsi, Yuridia, and John Legend – were “guests of honor.”

In regards to “Uno No Es Uno,” Noel Schajris states that the title is a conceptual one, used in this instance to sustain that “I am not one, but many. I am not a person, an individual separated from the rest of humanity. Neither am I separated from creation, from the universe. Rather, I am an accumulation of personalities that reside within a human body. Depending on the external circumstances, these personalities are triggered and emerge, being that they reside within me. ‘Uno No Es Uno’ comes from that. But it also comes from the fact that I feel more accompanied than ever before.”

Why food affects our health?

Nutritional column
Cristal Muñoz

In this last decade, science has come to discover that many health issues are not due to genetic inheritance but due to the fact that what we inherit are our parents bad eating habits. If mom liked to cook with lard, chances are daughter will also use lard to cook with and, surprise! Both mother and daughter have high cholesterol.

This is very good news as it means that the power of being healthy is in our hands if we focus on changing our eating habits. (Sigh) I know, it’s not as easy as the Doctor seems to think.

First of all, if you really want to change your eating habits, you would do well to know why you’re doing so and what the consequences will be if you don’t.

Just to give you an idea, seventy percent of the population in the U.S. is currently overweight (meaning they have an extra five to forty pounds) and three out of every ten people who are overweight are actually obese (meaning over forty pounds overweight) which is considered a clinical disease.

Now, if you’re a practical person like me, you may be thinking: “So what if I have a few extra pounds?! I’m not concerned.”

Here lies the problem:

What you’ve been eating that has made you gain weight is replacing what you should be eating to stay healthy, and that may cause you to have future health problems other than just being overweight.

Perhaps you’re amongst the many who have replaced water with soda and refreshments. If so, you have replaced one of the most important elements your body needs to distribute nutrients and purify the organs.

Remember your grandparents? Chances are they didn’t use adult diapers. Yet it is estimated that sixty percent of the population above seventy years of age now use them. Why? Years of abusing the kidneys by not drinking enough water and saturating them with sugar and chemicals every day. What would happen to your car’s radiator if you put soda in it?

It is important to understand that a large number of minor health issues such as migraines, cholesterol, constipation and fatigue can be occasioned by excesses and deficiencies in our diets.

So next time you want to lose those extra pounds or have more energy remember: it’s not only what you eat, but what you don’t eat that is affecting your health!

Aerosmith unable to perform at upcoming show in Venezuela

From: AEROSMITH

AEROSMITH are regrettably unable to perform their February 1 headlining show in Caracas, Venezuela at The Hippodrome as part of Solid Fest. This is due to lead guitarist JOE PERRY having to undergo emergency surgery on his knee caused by unforeseen complications from a previous surgery on the same knee.

In March 2008, PERRY underwent total knee replacement surgery, an operation he put off for two years so that he could fulfill the band’s live commitments and perform for fans.

AEROSMITH was looking forward to their performance in Venezuela--especially because it would have marked their first-ever show in the country—and they hope everyone at the Solid Fest has a great time. The band is also hoping to announce a future show in Venezuela and they want to thank fans for their understanding and support.

Says STEVEN TYLER: “We are very happy with everything related to the show, the euphoria of the fans, how they have responded to our website with great expectations and the production company that we chose, that has been working very well on this show for the past three months. Playing Venezuela was my idea of a perfect way to start the New Year. But having heard Joe had to revisit the hospital this month, the band are truly disappointed we can’t be in Caracas, and we hope to see everyone there soon.”
